2019 Japan Update #3

Hello family and friends!

Only 2 more sleeps until we're on a plane back to Three Hills! I must admit it is kind of a bitter sweet feeling, but we are really looking forward to seeing many of you when we get back!

Thank you so much for praying for the kids camp, all in all it went really well. It was a little crazy but so much fun. We pray that each child who attended will be genuinely impacted by the gospel.

Last Sunday we took a short flight back to Ichikawa to stay at the Guesthouse (some of you may remember we were supposed to serve here last year) and to meet with some people who work in different ministries here. It was overwhelmingly sad to leave the Elliots again but we pray it won't be too long until we meet again.

Taken during our prolonged good-bye, God has truly blessed us through this friendship

We have had the opportunity to help around the Ichikawa Guesthouse, meet with some missionaries who work with young adults and teach an English class. Tomorrow we plan to visit a church and meet with some missionaries for supper, we also have the opportunity to share our testimonies, please pray that God would be glorified in all of this. We feel so blessed that God has placed us here in Japan for such a time as this.

The church we taught English at - Yachimata Glory Church

Praise:
- We are grateful for safe travels back to Ichikawa and also safe travels within Tokyo on the slightly confusing train system.
- Praise for opportunities to see different ministries within the Tokyo area, it's very different than ACC but it's so cool to see how God is working throughout Japan.
- God has been so generous is answering my prayer to get to talk to native Japanese people. Hearing stories from their perspective is wonderful.

Prayer:
- Please pray that the Elliots would be rejuvenated and strengthened as they enter their rest time before starting up again at ACC in the fall.
- Please pray for a long-time missionary couple who will transition into retirement this fall.
- Please pray that God would send someone who could teach English classes regularly at Yachimata Glory Church. The pastor and his wife work diligently serving throughout their community and desire a native English speaker to help in this area.

A lovely bookstore we found while adventuring in the city

A more reflective post really will come eventually... just haven't sat down to put it all down on paper yet. :)
Thank you all for your support!

In His grace,
Lily and Jared
