March 26th 2018 Prayer Letter

Dear friends,

We hope that you are doing well and are enjoying this lovely transition into spring. We are really growing in and loving this season of life as we continue to navigate being a young married couple. God is doing incredible things in both of our lives as we learn to serve Him better and are figuring out who we are in Him and how we fit into His plan. We would like to share with you how God has been teaching and shaping us in this season of life as well as a little about His plans for our near future.

Jared is currently in year one of his electrician apprenticeship through BCP, he is learning lots and building great relationships in the workplace. Lily is in year one of her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies programme. She loves what she is learning and is very much enjoying all the dancing and dance teaching that she gets to do. God has placed on our hearts a desire to serve Him overseas, God-willing someday full time but for now we have the opportunity to do so this summer with OMF International in Japan.

OMF was founded as the China Inland Mission in 1865 by pioneer missionary to China, Hudson Taylor. OMF Serve Asia is the short term program within the broader mission designed to give people an enriching overseas and cross-cultural experience.

We have applied to participate in the OMF Serve Asia summer mission project in Ichikawa, Japan. This is a four week trip in which we will be serving at a missionary guest house, we will be there from July 8th - August 5th 2018. We will be doing housework, helping missionaries settle in and feel comfortable, and making sure everything runs smoothly. For two of these weeks we will be in charge of this on our own in an effort to grant the missionaries running this ministry time away as a family. Through this we hope to show the love of Christ to this family but also to each person we come into contact with.

We ask that you will partner with us through your prayers as we embark on this journey. There is a great need for prayer in order to gain the essential spiritual, physical, emotional and financial support necessary to engage in this ministry (See support page).

These diverse needs have presented us with a great opportunity to trust God to provide in many areas for what He has called us to do. If you would like to participate in supporting us in any way, please see the column to your left for more information. We really appreciate your prayers for us and this ministry.
