2019 Japan Update #2 - Youth Camp

Hello again friends and family!

It seems like just yesterday I wrote our previous post, our time here in Japan is going by so fast!

Thank you so much to all who prayed for the youth camp! It was a lot of fun, even though at times very tiring. Some amazing news we have to share is that one of the mothers of the campers accepted Jesus and now has a relationship with the Lord! It was an honor to be able to congratulate her and welcome her to the family moments after she prayed. We are so thankful to God for even just one more member to the body of Christ, He is so gracious!
Please join with us as we continue to pray for the youth who attended, we pray that what they heard and learned will have a lasting impact on their lives.

For Lily youth camp was full of lots of cooking, along with a lovely (and super exhausting) hike with the rest of the camp. Jared was informed the morning camp started that he and our new friend from the UK would be program directors in charge of skits, games and activities. Jared thrived in his role and put together amazing skits and he and Charlie had lots of fun keeping the kids entertained with many different games. During the camp we had chapel with music and a speaker, campfires, wide games and board games, went on a hike, did roller luge and ate meals all together. It was only 2 nights and 2 packed full days but we pray that the gospel will have a lasting impact on each person.

After one relaxing day off we jumped back into camp. A kids Bible camp is in process right now and with 21 kids (basically beyond capacity at this point) there is rarely a slow moment (I am writing this as the campers and some staff go on that tiring hike again :D ). If I am honest part of me wishes I could serve alongside Jared in the camp but I am so grateful for the opportunity to help Yuko in the kitchen. It has also been amazing seeing how the kids have so much fun with Jared regardless of the language barrier, God has truly blessed him with a gift and I know he sincerely cares about the children he interacts with.

Later this week we would like to write more of a reflective post but until then hopefully this quick breakdown gives you some insight into what has been going on in our lives. Thank you so much for reading and being a part of our lives!

Praise!:
- God has brought 21 kids to camp, some of whom have never heard the gospel.
- So far there have been no injuries in all our time here.
- One of the campers mom has come to know Christ!!

Prayer:
- Continued safety.
- Pray for the campers, that they would learn who Jesus is and want to have a relationship with him.
 - Pray for energy for the staff.
- Pray that God would be glorified in all that takes place.

Please do let us know how we can be praying for you!

Love,
Lily and Jared
